Clerk of Superior Court, Hall County

The Hall County Clerk of Superior Court handles all deed recording and public access. The office is located at 225 Green Street SE, Gainesville, GA 30501. You can visit in person Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Call (770) 531-7025 with questions about specific documents or to confirm what you need to bring. The standard recording fee is $25.00 per document under O.C.G.A. 15-6-77. Copy fees are $0.50 per page for uncertified copies. Certified copies cost $2.50 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page.

Records filed before January 1, 1999 are only available in person at the courthouse. They have not been digitized.

How to Search Hall County Deed Records

The main statewide search tool for Georgia deed records is the Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority (GSCCCA) real estate portal. The database covers deed filings statewide from January 1, 1999 to present.

Use grantor or grantee searches to find deeds. The results show who bought and sold, the property involved, and where the document is filed.

Browsing the index is free. Account plans are Regular ($14.95/month), Premium ($29.95/month), and Single-Use ($5.00 for 4 hours). Printing is $0.50 per page. Sign up at account.gsccca.org.

To search Hall County specifically, filter results by county when using the GSCCCA portal. The statewide index includes all deed types: warranty deeds, quitclaim deeds, security deeds, and other recorded instruments. Each record links to an image of the actual document for account holders.

Typical rejection reasons include a missing PT-61 form, fewer than two witnesses, or no notary seal. Double-check before submitting.
