The Putnam County Clerk of Superior Court handles all deed recording and public access. The office is located at 100 S. Jefferson Street, Eatonton, GA 31024. Staff are on site Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Call (706) 485-4501 with questions about specific documents or to confirm what you need to bring. The standard recording fee is $25.00 per document under O.C.G.A. 15-6-77. Copy fees are $0.50 per page for uncertified copies. Certified copies cost $2.50 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page.

Georgia law requires two witnesses plus a notary seal on every deed. Staff cannot offer legal advice under O.C.G.A. 15-19-51. For help with deed questions, consult a licensed attorney.

Records filed before January 1, 1999 are only available in person at the courthouse. They have not been digitized.
